Farm work is hard!!

Well I have just found out that farm work is hard.  Last night Nanna made me sit up all night and prepare snow peas, it was a boring job.  Here is a pic of Me, Mummy, Nanna and Pa, all working on the snow peas.

It was a boring job, but someone has to do it I guess.  but that is NOTHING compared to what I had to do today.  Daddy told me to get up early as I had farm chores to do.  So i got up at 5:30am, I dont think Daddy meant that early.  He was a bit grumpy.
First job of the day was to check on the sheep, that means getting Pip the sheep dog in the ute and going to check the sheep.

Here I am trying to get Pip out of her kennel.

Maybe it was a bit early for Pip too, cos she was not coming out at all.  Then Pa told me that she is "the laziest bloody dog he has ever seen"  So that means that Pip did not come and check the sheep with us.

Daddy said that I could drive the Ute, so here I am trying to drive.

As you can see there was a bit of a problem, my legs would not reach the pedals, I had no trouble with the steering wheel, but daddy said that you need to be able to steer AND touch the foot pedals, so driving the ute was out.  Maybe next week I will be able to reach the pedals.

Then we had to go and feed the goats, they are a bit crazy, they just run away, go figure, you go to feed em and they run away.  Daddy said something about them tasting good at Christmas time.  Maybe that means they are going to feed them something better at Christmas that they will like and they will not run away from the food.

here are the Goats

I thought that would be the end of the chores...  But NO, there was still a lot more to come.  Next we had to go and feed the chooks, this was a bit more funner, they was fighting over the food, it was funny.

Then we had to collect the eggs.  Daddy did this, not me, cos I would have had to crawl through the chook shit to get them, and no one likes crawling through chook shit according to Daddy.

Then Nanna came out and we had to feed the orphaned lamb, he was a noisy little bugger, jumpin around and stuff, like he had ants in his pants, but me and nanna quietened him down when we gave him his milk.

You should have seen him, he was a bit of a guts, he scoffed the lot, way quicker than i can do, plus he didnt spill as much as I do either.

then I discovered that one of the mother chooks had some baby chickens, and I wanted to play with them, so Daddy caught one of them for me to play with.  gee the mother chook was none too pleased about this.  She fluffed herself up to make her look all tough and stuff, but daddy wasnt scared.

I was pretty tired after all the chores, but once we got back to the house, Mummy was packing everything up to leave on the next stage of our adventure.  Seeing I was in the mood for chores, I decided to help out.

Mummy thought I was a great helper, she said "Great, that is just bloody great" so I think that means I did a good job at helping.

So after all my chores and helping out, it was time to get on the road.  but it seems I did not see much, I was asleep in the back of teh car before we even got to the farm gate.

Seems I was very very tired, I slept for 2 hours and 50 mins.  Daddy thought this was great.  Mummy did too.  But it was those farm chores that took it all out of me.

We have now stopped in some place called Hay for lunch.  Daddy said that horses and Cows eat hay, so I dont know why you would want to live there, you might get eaten by a horse or a cow.

Some guys in a ute just tooted at Daddy, maybe they know him.  Daddy grinned again.  Hmm  yeah he must know them.
